The Blue Violin Player at Marnixplantsoen

The Blue Violin Player (De Blauwe Vioolspeler) is a metal sculpture placed in the Second Marnixplantsoen near the Raampoortbrug bridge in Amsterdam. The artwork depicts an apparently faceless/invisible man running with a violin case towards Marnixstraat. The sculpture is also called Man Trying to Catch Tram 10 or Man with Violin Case. The sculpture was erected in 1982. It was removed for restoration for a brief time and then came back painted blue. The city council has received the work on the basis that the identity of the artist remained unknown.
